Sony Ericsson Add New Colours To Their Logo
Sony Ericsson have been looking for ways to freshen up their brand image, it now seems that they have found their answer. Ever since Sony and Ericsson became one back in 2001, the design of the logo hasn’t been altered. It has always been the silver casing surrounding the liquid like green center, however, they are about to change it.
Even though the actual main business logo design and shape isn’t being altered, the colours are being changed. What they are going to do is change the liquid center of the logo in an attempt to refresh the look of the brand. They have already created a series of logo examples using a series of other colours like blue, brown, pink and purple. Currently, they haven’t announced any costs of the new logo designs, as I assume they used a professional logo designer to do the job.
This news come as the company wants to try and refresh their advertising before the release of their biggest ever marketing campaign. The 8 million pound advertising campaign will be promoting their new phone models, the Satio, Yari and Aino. It also includes their new PlayNow music and film download service.
Their last biggest ad campaign that the company did was 3 years ago when they replaced occurences of a heart symbol with their logo. This campaign was also the start of vibrant colours being used in adverts to try and seperate Sony Ericsson from other phone makers.
To go with this new ad campaign, Sony Ericsson will be giving away some prizes for football fans. Next month when their marketing campaign goes live, if you buy one of the Satio, Yari or Aino phones, you will get the chance to win tickets to next year’s football World Cup in South Africa.
