What To Buy When You Are Expecting A Baby Girl

When you are pregnant with a baby girl it is a very exciting time. There are so many cute little outfits that you can buy for them that it is easy to get carried away and have a heart attack when the credit card bills arrive at the end of the month. It is important to know the first time around what type of items you really do need and what items you can live without in order to avoid over-spending.

If you are sure that you are having girl, then there are a number of feminine little baby cribs that you can buy that are beautiful and functional. If you plan on having more than one baby, then it is a good idea to purchase a cot that is in neutral tones and can be refurbished for a future boy or girl baby.

Another option is to keep the cot fairly neutral and accessorize the nursery in pinks, prints and murals that are more themed towards a girl.

When you are buying clothes for the baby do not buy too many clothes in the new born size as they grow out of them very quickly. It is better that you buy more clothes such as girls sweatshirts, rompers and so on in the next size up from newborn.

Babies go through a lot of clothes particularly girls t shirts and vests. They often wet them, vomit on them, dribble on them and so on, so it is worth having quite a few changes of these ready to go. You will need enough to have a couple for one day, so in the laundry and some in reserve just in case.

Other items that you will need for your new baby are plenty of baby wraps and blankets. If your baby is born in summer or the warmer months, then muslin wraps are a great choice. A baby’s ear thermometer is also a good item to purchase and have ready for when teething and snuffles start up.

When you are expecting a baby there are many different items that you have to buy. If it is the first baby for you, then you should call on the experience of other mothers you know and trust to find out what items they consider to be the essentials and which ones you can probably live without.
