Organic Cotton Clothing: An Ecologically Good Choice For Many Aspects
When you wish to eliminate harmful products from your everyday life, you should consider switching over to putting on only organic cotton clothing. Cotton is well known for its ability to wrinkle if you do so much as look at it wrong. Cotton that does this will not be treated with a chemical substance called Formaldehyde. In addition to Formaldehyde, as though wearing a cancer-causing agent has not been bad enough, the process that non organic cotton goes through really does a number on our surroundings. Non organic cotton is actually grown with a list of fertilizers and pesticides used to guard and motivate growth of these plants. However, these fertilizers and insecticides wash down out of the fields and directly into the ecosystems.
Out of the local ecosystems, they go directly into the rivers, which then flow into the seas. The end result is the growth of dead and dying zones, such as the one located in the Gulf of Mexico. Simply by refusing to buy anything but organic cotton clothes, you send a communication to the bank accounts of makers of non organic cottons.
The problem with organic cotton clothing is always that not enough people have demanded it. Although the movement is picking up, only when individuals demand high quality, organic cotton clothing, will the mass producers of chemically enhanced clothes lower. Only when those non organic producers change their methods of growing as well as treating cotton, will the influence of the damage caused to the environment be lessened.
When you own organic cotton clothing, you will want to make sure that you are only using natural cleaning products with your cotton clothing. Cotton will bond with many substances and detain residue in the fiber of the threads. When using natural cleanup products, you will know that you won’t be wearing any additional chemical substances.
The average person consumes a great deal of non natural chemicals on a daily basis, so removing exposure to such chemicals as often as you can is important for avoiding cancer and maintaining the environment.
Using organic cotton clothing is only your first step. From your clothes, you can adjust to consuming organic foods and using natural cleaning products in attempts of living a green lifestyle.
Remember, eating organic foods does not give any kind of additional health benefits from eating any other vegetables. You only lower the amount of trace chemical substances introduced into your system as well as prevent excess chemicals from being trashed into the environment.
