Making Bath Time Easier To Deal With
At the end of a hard day a long hot bubble bath would be most parent’s idea of heaven. So you’ve got to admire the irony that it’s your kids idea of hell most evenings. It’s pretty easy to see why so many children hate the idea of bath time. All it is to them is a boring tub of water followed by bed. There are still lots of tricks you could try which will show them how much fun bath time could be.
If you can ensure your bathroom suites are as child friendly as possible. The thought of bright ducks all over the shower curtain of pictures of fish in the toilet seat may not appeal to you but they would appeal to your children. Next you need to let them help with actually running the bath. Most children will complain that the water is either too hot or two cold. By letting your children turn the taps they’re becoming more involved and they have more control over the situation too. Always let them have some bubbles which they can pour themsleves. Obviously almost every child in the world would automatically stick the whole bottle in. Pour one portion into an empty bubble bath bottle and add some water and you children can pour all the bubble bath in they want.
Keep this responsibility going throughout the baths. Give them the sponge or flannel so they can wash themselves with you just helping out if they miss a spot. If you’ve had a fight to get them into the bathroom make sure you leave it at the door. If your child is in trouble or they’ve done something wrong try and leave it at the door. If they’ve thrown a temper tantrum because they don’t want a bath they’ll most likely keep it up until bedtime. If they know they’re not in trouble for the time being they’re likely to be more cooperative.
