In a professional environment, suits that are tailored are an absolute must. Suits that are of a proper fit, have clean lines, good structure, and shape give a good impression, such as that the person is organized and works hard.
Colors of suits must be taken into consideration as well. Sticking to basic colors is smart. Medium and dark shades of blue are appropriate. Brown, black, gray, and tan are also good color options. Colors that are too bold should not be worn. Nobody in an office takes anyone wearing a red, orange, or purple suit seriously.
Patterns on suits are also important when choosing what to wear. Pinstripes are fashionable and give men a put together yet stylish appearance. A little texture is also fine as long as it’s subtle. Never wear loud patterns. Avoid patterns like polka dots and color blocks because they do not belong in the work place.
You must also take into account which shoes to wear. You would never wear flip flops to work. This rule also applies to causal shoes like sneakers and sports shoes like tennis shoes. A nice loafer is always in style. After all, wearing a brown boot does not exactly say to employers ‘promote me.’
Accessories must be chosen wisely as well. The majority of men wear a watch when at work. Not appropriate for work is a men’s sport watch. Watches that are of bright colors or that feature cartoon characters are not right for work, no matter how much you like them or how cute they are.
Try classic options of time pieces instead. A leather watch looks good with any suit and it is simple. They can be professionally worn as well as casually worn, so it’s a smart investment. They key is to be simple and to not overdo it.
